CM helpline, call centre to redress public grievances

Plaints will be forwarded to relevant dept, CM to monitor call centre

LUCKNOW The state cabinet on Tuesday decided to set up a tollfree helpline with new call centre to ensure action on complaints of people and get feedback.

The call centre will be establishe­d in Lucknow with 500 seats.

Giving details, UP energy minister and government spokesman Shrikant Sharma said: “For redress of problems of the common public, a toll-free Mukhyamant­ri Helpline Seva will be started. In the first phase, a 24-hour call centre will be establishe­d in Lucknow.”

A person sitting in any region of the state can register his or her complaint, he said.

“After this the complaint will be forwarded to the relevant department for redress. Once the department says that the complaint has been resolved, the call centre will contact the complainan­t, and if the problem is not solved then action will be initiated against the concerned official,” Sharma said.

He also said the call centre will be monitored by the chief minister and his office. He said the helpline

will work in two shifts, one from 7am to 11pm and the other from 11pm to 7am. “Soon, the tollfree helpline number and call centre will be started,” Sharma said.

FOOD PROCESSING POLICY APPROVED

The state cabinet on Tuesday approved the Uttar Pradesh Food Processing Policy 2017 providing for incentives to investors and boost the setting up of mega food parks to ensure a remunerati­ve price for produce to farmers.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the meeting of

state cabinet that also approved rules for Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy Uttar Pradesh 2017. The new food processing policy provides for 25% subsidy with a maximum limit of Rs 25 lakh on total investment in the sector.

Other incentives include a subsidy of maximum Rs 50,000 per month that will be provided for payment of interest for five years and a capital subsidy of Rs 50 lakh. Adityanath will attend World Food India being organised in New Delhi from November 3 to 5. He will brief investors about the incentives.

CONTRACT JOBS FOR RETIRED TEACHERS

The state cabinet decided to allow contractua­l appointmen­t of retired teachers of up to 70 years of age to fill 20,000 vacancies of assistant teachers and 6300 vacancies of lecturers in aided institutio­ns. Assistant teachers will be given Rs 15,000 per month. The lecturers will be paid Rs 20,000 per month.

The cabinet also approved the filling up of vacant posts in nine homoeopath­ic medical colleges of the state on contract basis.

NEW STP TO CHECK CANAL POLLUTION

The state cabinet approved a proposal to set up sewage treatment plant of 120 MLD capacity to check pollution being caused to Gomti by Ghaziuddin Haider Canal. A sum of Rs 441.31 crore has been approved for the STP.

LICENCING SIMPLIFIED

The state cabinet decided to simplify procedure for the licences of cinema halls. Applicatio­ns for cinema halls may now be given online and those delaying the processing of applicatio­ns beyond 30 days will be penalised.
