Now, admission forms for Navodaya schools can be filled offline too

ALLAHABAD: Forms for admission to class 6 of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) running across the country can once again be filled offline from the 2018-19 academic session

The government-funded Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has taken the decision to this effect.

The offline arrangement is in addition to the online facility which was introduced earlier to simplify the admission process and provide convenience to parents/children.

“The decision has been taken to provide the offline option also so that admission forms of children can be filled without any difficulty even by people not comfortable doing so on the online mode,” said Sanjay Shukla, principal, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya-Meja in Allahabad.

The last date for submitting forms for the class 6 entrance test is November 25, 2017. The test will be held in February 2018.

Before the online facility, the forms were submitted to principal, JNV, offline through assistant basic shiksha adhikaris (ABSAs).

Under the offline arrangement, parents can now submit admission forms to principal, JNV by simply getting it attested by the principal of the school in which the child is studying in class 5 in the 2017-18 academic session, he added.

Children opting for the online procedure would have to fill admission forms at Jan Seva Kendras, he said. Those who already opted for the online procedure need not apply offline, he added.

He said only those children born between May 1, 2005 and April 30, 2009 could appear in the entrance test of JNVs this year .

The admission forms can be downloaded from the official website www.nvshq.org and www.nvsrolko.org, he added.

The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) is an autonomous body of the department of school education and literacy, ministry of human resource and development. There are 73 such schools in Uttar Pradesh and 13 in Uttarakhand.
