Climbing Mt Everest is a shining example of her indomitable spirit.”

He said the film based on her life would motivate the specially abled to take inspiration and move on in life. He said physically challenged people were also an integral part of the society.

In December 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched ‘Born Again on the Mountain’, a book by Arunima Sinha. The Hindi version of the book titled ‘Everest Ki Beti’ was published subsequently.

Arunima, who hails from Ambedkar Nagar and is a former national level volleyball player, lost her right leg after being allegedly thrown off a moving train near Bareilly by unidentified hoodlums while resisting a robbery in April 2011. The Railways had, however, contested the claim besides questioning her national player status.
