Super luxury tents at Ardh Kumbh with Rs 2 crore

ALLAHABAD:The UP Tourism department will set up a colony of super-luxury Maharaja tents at the venue of Ardh Kumbh Mela for the tourists coming from different parts of the world.

The state government has sanctioned Rs 2 crore for these tents that would have exquisite wooden furniture, modern bathroom, cozy bedroom and other luxuries.

“These tents would be made of imported waterproof cloth. Shaped like huts to retain the essence of mela, the exteriors of this super-luxury tent colony would also be dec- orated with flower pots and idols,” said DP Singh, a senior manager with the UP state tourism department.

In addition the two hotels of UP Tourism Department Triveni Darshan and Tourist Bungalow (Hotel Ilawart) —will also be upgraded with plush furniture and interiors that would leave the visitors awestruck. “The state government has sanctioned Rs 2 crore for Hotel Ilawart and 1 crore for Triveni Darshan. With this amount we will be constructi­ng an all glass restaurant on the first floor of the Triveni Darshan so that tourists can have a breathtaki­ng view of River Yamuna. The floor and ceiling of the restaurant would also be made of glass so that the visibility doesn’t get blocked. The cuisine would also be replanned with lots of famous local dishes and continenta­l food,” he shared.

“The booking for these rooms begins several weeks in advance by tou rists expected to arrive from Singapore, Australia, America as well as those from other parts of India,” he added.
