Windows 10 Fall Creators Update: What is in it for professionals
The latest update to Windows 10 not only brings in new features but also makes it more secure
Microsoft’s next big update to Windows 10, known as the Fall Creators update, is finally rolling out. It is free and will be delivered to all Windows 10 devices in a phased manner. Newer devices running on latest hardware are likely to receive it first. To take advantage of the update, your system should have at least 1GHz processor and 1GB RAM with 16GB storage (32-bit version) and 2GB RAM with 20GB storage (64-bit version).
AI BACKED SECURITY TOOLS
With the Fall Creators update, Microsoft is finally introducing the AI powered Windows Defender Exploit Guard and Windows Defender antivirus. The former will prevent hackers from exploiting vulnerabilities and carrying out zero day attacks. The latter will tap the data generated from Microsoft Intelligence Security Graph to identify malware and create a digital signature for them before they can target users. The digital signature of the new virus will then be used to identify devices which have also been affected by it.
3D OBJECTS IN OFFICE
Office users can now make their presentations more effective by adding 3D objects in Word, Excel and Power Point. Once a 3D model is added, users can modify its size, make changes to it and rotate it for better view using the 360 degree rotation handle. Users can get 3D model made by other users from the Remix 3D community, or use their own creations saved on the PC.
SMARTER STORAGE MANAGER
Windows 10 users can see their One Drive inventory just like any other file on the PC. They won’t have to download their files from the cloud storage on the PC for it. User can see their offline and online files at the same time. This will help users optimise their PC storage better as they can see which files are available on cloud and which are on the PC.
MORE OPTIONS IN EDGE BROWSER
Microsoft Edge users can now pin their favourite websites to the task bar so they can access them quickly. Users can also switch to the new full-screen mode for a more immersive web-browsing experience. Users can also annotate ebooks, highlight text, underline and add comments.
QUICK SHARING
Users can now pin their favourite contacts on the taskbar and share an article or make a Skype call without wasting time.
