Probe ordered into PM rural housing scheme, MNREGA
LUCKNOW: The Yogi Adityanath government has ordered a probe into Prime Minister’s rural housing and scheme and work undertaken in MNREGA in 16 districts of Uttar Pradesh following complaints of large scale irregularities.
Rural development commissioner Parthasarthi Sen Sharma has been asked to conduct the inquiry based on complaints and verify the works under the schemes and submit a report by November 13. According to minister of state (Rural Development) Mahendra Singh, complaints of gross anomalies were received in Central government aided schemes during the previous governments. “We want to cross-check the veracity of the charges levelled in these complaints,” the minister said.
He said local officials have been asked to certify the work done so far.
The officials have been asked to gather details of job cards, employment day and conduct a physical verification of the work done.
Singh said complaints of fake allotments of houses to rural and urban poor were also received and hence a re-verification of the beneficiaries under the rural housing would also be done. The districts where the investigation will take place include Sultanpur, Gonda, Sitapur, Hardoi, Ambedkarnagar, Rae Bareli, Unnao, Basti, Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Kushinagar, Kheri, Allahabad, Kanpur rural, Mirzapur and Azamgarh.
