gathered on both the sides of the road to welcome party candidate Priyanka Maheshwari.

“AAP fulfilled all promises it had made with the electorate of New Delhi during campaigning. We came to power in Delhi on the promise of providing corruption –free government. We promise the same to people of Lucknow. We will end all corruption in Lucknow Municipal Corporation,” Maheshwari told the media after filing nomination papers.

“We will also introduce ‘Mohalla Swaraj’ in Lucknow to empower locals (people in wards) to certify work of contractors by issuing ‘no objection certificates’. This will keep a check on quality of work and will also check corruption in the civic body,” Maheshwari asserted.

“AAP has been fighting to expose rampant corruption in Lucknow Municipal Corporation for the past several years,” Maheshwari told people.

“BJP has failed to address civic issues despite having a mayor and majority in the Lucknow Municipal Corporation,” she added. “There is rampant corruption in LMC. My first priority will be to rid this civic body from corruption,” said Maheshwari.

Maheshwari also promised people to cut down house tax and water tax by half and starting ‘mohalla clinics’ on lines of New Delhi.
