MEDTRONIC KEEN TO PARTNER UP IN HEALTH CARE SECTOR
LUCKNOW: Representatives of US medical device company Medtronic who arrived here on Sunday showed keen interest to partner the Uttar Pradesh government in improving access to affordable, innovative and high quality health care, in line with the National Health Policy.
The delegation includes head of US-India Business Council (USIBC), Amit Kumar Singh. While talking to the media he said the objective of this visit was to collaborate with the state government to ensure affordable health care to people in the state.
The Medtronic delegation is currently visiting Uttar Pradesh to systematically understand these structural barriers.
These structural barriers are lack of public awareness on diseases, diagnosis and treatment options, lack of standard treatment guidelines and patient outcomes, data collection, inadequate skilled physicians and lack of health care reimbursement options.
The delegation will visit Balrampur hospital in Lucknow to evaluate the status of medical services. The delegation members said that health care the world over was a complex subject and could not be addressed alone by one entity. That’s where partnership from all the stakeholders i.e. government, hospitals, doctors, patients and the industry was needed.
Medtronic was part of the USISPF delegation that met Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and key state officials recently to explore partnership opportunities. Medtronic firmly believes that it’s important to drive innovation along with a view on patient outcomes.
