LDA’s second list of land mafia out

SDMs and tehsildars told to expedite legal proceeding­s against land sharks in revenue court

LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Developmen­t Authority has released a new list of land mafia who have encroached on government (nazul) land. This list also carries names of people who have been occupying government land in the guise of farmers’ leaders. LDA secretary Jai Shankar Dubey released the list last week.

This list also carries names of people who have been occupying government land in the guise of farmers’ leaders.

LDA secretary Jai Shankar Dubey released the list last week, directing officials to take action against the offenders.

This is the second such list that has been released by the developmen­t authority. The first list was released in September.

Those who figure on the LDA’s list are Amanullah Khan who has illegally occupied 3,000 sq metre land in Gomti Nagar, Satish Yadav, who has encroached upon 2,000 sq metres of land in Rajnikhand, Sharda Nagar scheme, Sanjay Rajput, who occupies 0.08 hectares in Ruchikhand and Shamim, who occupies 9 bighas

on Bari Road.

Apart from them, Gopal Singh (9 bigha in Ganeshganj), Suresh Kumar (four bigha in Balakganj), Shiv Prakash Mishra (70 hectares in Mawaiya) and Mishri Lal Yadav (4,200 sq metres land in

Gomti Nagar extension) are also in the list.

The developmen­t authority will take action against these land sharks under the Goonda Act.

In its first list, the developmen­t authority had identified several land sharks, prominent among them being a woman Hazra Khatoon, who illegally occupies a large number of plots worth several crores.

On the other hand, the antiland mafia task force of the district administra­tion has identified 44 land sharks.

The district administra­tion is planning stringent action against them.

They have been identified in four tehsils-- Sadar, Mahilabad, BKT, Sarojinaga­r and Mohanlalga­nj.

Around 253 hectares of land in the state capital has been found under illegal possession.

District magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma has instructed all sub divisional magistrate­s and tehsildars to expedite legal proceeding­s against land mafia in the revenue court in their respective areas.

Lekhpals have also been directed to furnish details of land mafia of their respective areas along with details of land in their illegal possession.
