Akhilesh asks party outfits to take civic polls very seriously
LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party national president and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has asked the party outfits and candidates to take the civic elections with all seriousness.
"Through the results of this elections, we can get closure to our 2019 Lok Sabha polls aim," he said on Thursday while addressing a meeting related to civic polls preparation and added: "The message of UP civic polls results will go nationwide."
He said the Samajwadi Party government had dedicated all the five years of its rule to development and welfare of the people.
And the workers should go door to door to publicise the SP government's works and also make extensive preparations at the booths and wards.
He said that the four years of BJP-led governnment at the centre and eight months in UP have lapsed without any achievement. It is not yet clear what direction the BJP government has decided to take the state in.
“There is no match to the works of the SP government and the BJP and its government seems to have only one agenda of ruining the works of SP government and do negative publicity of the SP works,” he said.
Continuing his attack on BJP, Akhilesh said that it is not in BJP's nature to work for the public interest.
"One can see how BJP government's demonetisation and the GST ruined country's economy and people's livelihood. How women don't feel secure. And instead of working, the BJP government in the state is busy changing colours of buildings and buses."
