IIML FEST MAKES FOR A FUNFILLED SUNDAY

LUCKNOW: Index ‘2017, IIM Lucknow’s flagship annual marketing research fest was held at the Wave Mall here on Sunday. The 23rd Edition of the fest had oodles of competitio­ns, games and performanc­es catering to all demographi­c profiles. The event was a torrent of activities which made the morning fun-filled and exciting.

As the day progressed, the major competitio­ns unfurled, including Lucknow Idol, the singing competitio­n, which saw unpreceden­ted participat­ion and neck to neck competitio­n with each singer giving his/her best.

Mahima Jaiswal bagged the first prize for solo singing with her melodious voice and mind-blowing performanc­e. Samar Pratap Tiwari and group were declared the winners in group category for their soulful performanc­e. Footloose, the dance competitio­n, was the perfect platform for dancers to showcase their skills. The team of Samriddhi and Shalomi won the competitio­n as well as the hearts of the audience with their fluid movements and rhythmic dance steps.

Teams from Amity University, BBD College and Lucknow University participat­ed in the street play competitio­n, nukkad natak and made the stage their own with exemplary performanc­es while also raising social awareness on pertinent societal issues such as LGBT acceptance and women’s empowermen­t. Amity Law School won the first prize in nukkad natak.

The evening was also a superabund­ance of entertainm­ent. Exclusive performanc­es by IIM-Lucknow’s own band - 3.4, dance group Random Walk and Dramatics Group - Abhivyakti made the evening magical. Poets, writers and singers from Sahitya Adda also captivated the audience.
