Sushil set to return to competition after three years
NEW DELHI: Two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar is all set to make a comeback to the mat after three years but Yogeshwar Dutt will not participate in the National Wrestling Championship that starts in Indore from November 15. Sushil, who was having a training stint in Tbilisi, Georgia, rushed back home to take part in the selection trial against Dinesh in the 74kg category. Dinesh, the national junior champion, gave him a walk over. Sushil last featured in the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games where he finished with gold.
ADVANI WINS 17TH WORLD TITLE
DOHA: Ace Indian cueist Pankaj Advani clinched his 17th world title after he thrashed Mike Russell of England in the IBSF World Billiards Championship. Advani beat Russell 6-2 (0-155, 150-128, 92-151, 151-0, 151-6, 151-0, 150-58, 150-21) to defend the 150-up format title he had won in Bangalore last year. Advani will be eyeing a grand double as the lengthier format (long-up) of the IBSF World Billiards Championship 2017 commences on Monday.
SANIA TO UNDERGO KNEE SURGERY
MUMBAI: Sania Mirza has said that she is suffering from a knee injury and would soon take a call on whether a surgery is needed or not. “It was tough year with partners getting injured, but I have a bit of a knee injury now. I have been off for about a month. I have couple of weeks to rest, just trying to get used to,” Sania said.
