Bowlers guide DCA enter Twenty20 cricket semi-finals

LUCKNOW : Agha Shahid and Milan Yadav bowled superbly to help Dhruva Cricket Academy (DCA) enter semi-finals of the Bhagwan Baksh Singh Memorial Twenty20 cricket tournament, defeating Mega Trends Cricket Club (MTCC) in a thrilling encounter, at the Pt Raas Bihari Tewari stadium here on Thursday.

Agha took four for 21, whereas Milan had two for 12 as MTCC got out for 93 in 17.1 overs while chasing 101 in 20 overs. Saurabh Dubey struck highest 42 for DCA. Opener Ravikant Shukla made 43 in 31 balls with the help of seven fours and a six, whereas Ajeet Singh made 26 in 12 balls with two fours and two sixes.

UPTC WIN

UP Timber Club (UPTC) defeated Aryavart Cricket Academy (ACA) by 43 runs and collected full points in the 1st Phoolmati Saxena Memorial cricket league, at the Chowk stadium.

THRILLING VICTORY

Shailendra Rawat and Mahmood Kumar shared six wickets between them as Brightway College defeated Jaipuria Cricket Academy by three wickets in a league match of the RD Chaudhary Memorial cricket tournament, at the Microlit Gymkhana ground here.

MATCH TIED

A league match of the Under-19 cricket tournament on Thursday between LDA Coaching Centre and Arya Cricket Academy ended in a tie. Rohit Dwivedi took five wickets, including a hat-trick as LDACC got the ACA out for 88 in 24.5 overs. In reply, LDACC too made 120 in 36.3 overs. The two teams split points.

COLLEGE CRICKET

Shia College and Vidyant College stormed into the semi-finals of the 46th Sundari Devi Memorial Inter-PG Collegiate cricket tournament. Shia PG College beat Mumtaz PG College by 61 runs, whereas Vidyant PG College beat BSNV PG College by nine runs.

CRICKET TOURNEY

The Travel Agents Fun Club Associatio­n would be conducting two-day cricket tournament from Saturday, at the Microlit Gymkhana ground here. As many as eight teams have confirmed their participat­ion.

STATE JUDO

Vishal Kumar Yadav of Lucknow and Krishna Faujdar of Agra won gold medal in boys and girls section, respective­ly on the opening day of the senior state judo championsh­ip in Moradabad on Thursday. Vishal won in the 60 kg category, whereas Krishna had the gold in the 48kg category.
