VARANASI: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said irregularities in recruitment into government services will land the wrongdoers in jail.

“Their fault will not be forgiven and their property will be seized,” said the chief minister, while addressing a rally in Ghazipur.

“We have come up with a transparent system for recruitment into government jobs. State government is going to recruit 1.76 lakh teachers and 47,000 police personnel through a transparent way,” Adityanath said. He blamed the previous government for the poor functioning of the urban bodies.

“Previous governments practised discrimination. We will provide facilities to the urban bodies. Governments at the state and centre are led by the BJP. For development in urban areas, there should be BJP majority in municipal bodies too,” he said while appealing people to vote in favour of BJP candidates at eight urban bodies in the district.

He said all districts across the state will get equal power supply.

“No preference will be given to a few districts or the state capital. This district will get as much power supply as Lucknow gets (Jitni Bijli Lucknow ko milegi, utni he hi bijali is jile ko bhi milegi),” he said.

He alleged that while the previous government provided houses to a few thousand people during last five year, the BJP government provided benefits of Prime Minister Awas Yojana to 11 lakh people.
