LUCKNOW: The body of driver and relative of Bhartiya Janata Party candidate for Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) zila panchayat chairmanship was found with stab wounds on a deserted stretch on city outskirts in a BKT village here on Friday morning.

The deceased Alok Singh alias Pushkar (25) often used to move along with BJP candidate Arun Singh Gappu.

He was with Gappu till Thursday evening after he returned home. He then left again to meet someone and then went missing thereafter.

On Friday morning, the victim’s badly stabbed body was found. The body bore multiple injuries on throat, face, right eye, ear and head.

INITIAL PROBE SUGGESTED THAT THE MURDER TOOK PLACE DUE TO AN ARGUMENT OVER SOME DISPUTE IN AN INEBRIATED STATE

Singh told the police that Pushkar left home at around 7pm on Thursday and did not return.

He said he tried to contact him but his mobile phone was found switched off.

He said he was informed at around 7.30 am on Friday that his son’s body was lying near Mahipatmau village. He said the victim’s friend Manish Singh informed him that he last interacted with Pushkar over phone at around 8.10 pm.

He said Pushkar told Manish that he along with one Lallu Singh and two-three other unidentified persons were sitting at Mona model wine shop near his village in Rampur, Devrai.

“Lallu Singh, who is relative of Vinay Singh, resident of the victim’s village, was found missing when I tried to contact him to inquire about my son’s death.

My suspicion is on Lallu, as he and Vinay were Gappu’s opponents. Pushakar was murdered for supporting Gappu,” he said while talking to media persons.

The victim’s father has lodged an FIR under IPC section 302 for murder against Lallu Singh and other unidentified persons with BKT police station.

Circle officer (CO) of BKT Santosh Singh said initial probe suggested that the murder took place due to argument over some dispute in an inebriated state.
