Tell passengers if trains are late: Rly board chief
LUCKNOW: Chairman, Railway Board (CRB) Ashwini Lohani’s maiden visit to the RDSO was all about maintaining transparency and ensuring safety. Lohani directed the officials to maintain punctuality in the foggy weather and ensure more transparency. He also inspected Charbagh railway station and took stock of the ongoing development work.
“Officials should try to maintain punctuality and should be more transparent with the passengers. If the trains are running late, the officers should tell them the status ,” he said .
He also directed the officials to keep passenger safety on their priority. RDSO presented the recently completed and ongoing projects and development works before the CRB , who also released a book titled “Guidelines on development of existing buildings to green buildings on Indian Railways” by RDSO. He also visited the Signal Lab, Brake-Dynamometer Lab and Metallurgical and Chemical Lab of RDSO.
Prior to this, he inspected Charbagh railway station and reviewed the progress of the ongoing traffic and passenger facilities projects , interacted with the loco pilots, track maintenance staff and coolies. He also conducted a safety focused inspection . He was accompanied by Vishwesh Chaube, general manager, Northern Railways, Satish Kumar, divisional railway manager (DRM) Northern Railways Lucknow, Vijay Laxmi Kaushik, divisional railway manager (DRM) North-Eastern Railways, Lucknow and senior divisional officers.
Besides an extensive inspection of station yard, he also examined the premises for the development of a second entry to Charbagh station.
