Chawrasia holds on to one-shot lead
HONGKONG: SSP Chawrasia holds a one-shot lead heading into the final day of the Hong Kong Open after carding a 69 in the third round on Saturday, with Rafa Cabrera Bello and Wade Ormsby closing in on the leader to set up a nail-biting finish at Fanling.
India’s Chawrasia, who is on the verge of his first European Tour title away from home, entered the third round with a two-shot lead and extended it to three at one stage before being chased down after a run of seven pars.
RITU GETS SILVER
NEW DELHI: India wrestler Ritu Phogat (48kg) clinched the silver medal in the Under-23 Senior World Wrestling Championship at Poland.The 23-year-old, who had won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship last year, lost against Turkish Wrestler Demirhan in the gold medal bout.

MUMBAI: Ankita Raina lost to France’s Amandine Hesse in the quarter-final to signal the end of India’s challenge at the Mumbai Open here. She lost 6-3, 7-6.
MAIRAJ WINS GOLD
NEW DELHI: India skeet shooter Mairaj Ahmad Khan won gold medal at the National Shooting Championship Competitions for shotgun events after a marathon final at Dr Karni Singh Shooting Ranges at New Delhi. Mairaj and Angad Vir Singh Bajwa of Punjab were engaged in a gruelling battle for top honours as both recorded 57 out of 60 hits in the final and then went through a marathon shoot-off before Mairaj came through 26-25 to clinch gold.
