Yogi promises dev, filling of four lakh vacant posts
MEERUT: Accusing the previous governments of converting “local bodies into hell”, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would give pace to development in the state.
Addressing an election rally at Gandhi Park in Saharanpur district, Yogi said after the local bodies’ election the government would fill 4 lakh vacancies, including 50,000 in police department and 1.76 lakh posts of teachers. Saharanpur will go to the polls on Wednesday when the voters will elect a mayor for the first time.
Yogi said the previous governments ignored the people of Saharanpur and added they could not declare Saharanpur a nagar nigam but the BJP did it soon after coming to power.
“Mafia elements were fearless in the district under the previous governments. Even court orders were not implemented. Our government established the rule of law. We closed down illegal slaughterhouses in compliance of National Green Tribunal (NGT) order. Ban from plywood industry was lifted to ease the lives of thousands of families who were dependent on it for livelihood,” he said. Yogi claimed his government made no discrimination in supplying power.
“We have ensured that no officer dares to demand money for work. Our government will recruit candidates on the basis of qualification and not to
favour someone,” Yogi said. The CM asked the people to ensure victory of BJP’s candidates in local bodies’ election for speedy development of the city and the district.
State president of the BJP Mahendra Nath Pandey and other leaders also addressed the rally and appealed the people to vote in favour of party candidates.
