PASS MARKS FOR ICSE, ISC REDUCED TO BRING UNIFORMITY

LUCKNOW: The pass marks for ICSE and ISC examinatio­ns have been reduced to bring about “close uniformity with other boards”. For ICSE (Class 10) examinatio­n, the pass marks have been lowered by 2 marks and for ISC (Class 12) it was brought down by 5 marks. The pass marks for ICSE would be 33% instead of the present 35% while for ISC examinatio­n the pass marks would be 35% instead of 40%.

For ICSE (Class 10) examinatio­n, the pass marks have been lowered by 2 marks and for ISC (Class 12) it was brought down by 5 marks.

The pass marks for ICSE would be 33% instead of the present 35% while for ISC examinatio­n the pass marks would be 35% instead of 40%.

The change in the pass marks will come into effect from 2019 examinatio­n.

implement the pass marks criteria in their internal examinatio­ns as well, from the academic year 2018-19 onwards. For class 9 and 10, it is 33% and for class 11 and 12, the pass marks will be 35%, he said.

Arathoon said, “Among the many recommenda­tions made by the Inter Board Working Group (IBWG), it was suggested that all the boards in the country should have the same pass marks’ criteria.”

“In view of this the council has decided to change its pass marks,” he added.
