LUCKNOW: Three constables of the Lucknow police who were in an inebriated state, created ruckus at hotel Metro in Alambagh on Sunday night, after not getting a room of their choice.

Three relatives of one of the constables were also present on the occasion.

The constables beat the hotel staff and a customer staying in room number 201 and misbehaved with a woman who was staying with him. When other customers tried to intervene, the cops also thrashed them.

The constables have been identified as Kamalveer Singh, who is personal security guard (hamrahi) of circle officer, Alambagh, driver Gopal Giri and Pradeep Sharma, who is posted at Manak Nagar police outpost.

When the video clips of the CCTV grab of the incident went viral in social media on Monday morning, senior superintendent of police, Deepak Kumar suspended the three constables..

Kumar also directed SP (East) Sarvesh Mishra to probe the incident and submit the report in the next 48-hours.

According to reports, at around 11 pm on Sunday night constables Kamalveer Singh, Gopal Giri and Pradeep Sharma along with their colleagues reached Hotel Metro, opposite Alambagh police station. All of them were in an inebriated state. They demanded a room.

Ramesh Yadav, manager, night shift, was present in the hotel along with other staff members.

As no room was vacant on the first floor, the manager allotted them room number 207 on the second floor. However, the constables

did not like the room and started thrashing the manager. They also started banging on the doors of all the rooms on the second floor and managed to open room number 201.

This room was occupied by a couple.

When the man opposed, the cops thrashed him and also misbehaved with the woman.

They pushed the woman out of the room and kept on pushing her even when she was moving downstairs to reach the ground floor.

“When the situation went out of control, we informed the police on emergency number 100. Police from the Alambagh police station reached the hotel. But they also tried to intimidate the hotel owner,” said the hotel staff.

When the hotel owner Sushil Abrol complained with circle officer, Alambagh, Sanjeev Sinha, he assured action against the constables.

But the Alambagh police did not accept the complaint letter from the hotel owner and instead forced him to write that nothing happened at the hotel.
