Kshatriya Mahasabha rally against film ‘Padmavati’
LUCKNOW: Hundreds of volunteers of Kshatriya Mahasabha took out a protest rally against Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest movie ‘Padmavati’ from 1090 crossing to GPO on Thursday.
The protestors marched via Lohia Path, Golf Club crossing and Park road riding on fourwheelers and two-wheelers. They were holding saffron flags and shouting slogans against Bhansali for allegedly presenting wrong contents in his film. The protestors termed the march as ‘Jauhar Swabhiman Rally’.
Kshatriya Mahasabha officer-bearer Avinish Singh said the rally was protect the sanctity of Jauhar, a tradition followed by Kshatriya women, in which they threw themselves in fire to escape being captured by invaders. He said nobody would be allowed to play with the sentiments and beliefs of Kshatriyas.
Singh said film makers should avoid showing such controversial content in their movies that hurt the sentiments and beliefs of any section of the society. He said Kshatriyas knew well to protect their honour and would continue protesting until and unless the controversial element
s were removed from the film. He said Kshatriyas were warriors and would fight till the last for elimination of controversial facts about Queen Padmavati.
