Top players likely to play AITA
LUCKNOW: The AITA Tennis Tournament for men and women, which carries Rs 1 lakh as prize money, is scheduled to start from December 11 to 16, at the SDS Tennis Academy here.
Many top ranked players, including, 19th ranked Faisal Quamar from Rajasthan, 24th ranked Harshita Chugh from Haryana are expected to participate.
In all 100 entries have been received and the qualifying event round will be played on December 9 and 10, to pick eight qualifiers in either main draw.
UP TEAM
UP Table Tennis Association on Thursday announced its teams for the forthcoming 79th National and Inter-State Championships. The 79th sub-junior national and inter-state championships will be played from December 14 to 19, at Goa, whereas the 79th senior nationals will take place from January 9 to 14 at Ranchi.
UPTTA secretary Arun Banerjee informed that coaching camp of the sub-junior teams will take place at Eklavya Sports Stadium in Agra from December 4 to 10, whereas camp for the junior, youth and seniors will take place at the UPTTA Complex here from January 1 to 7.

PREMIER LEAGUE
Chinhat Cricket Club, Eram Eleven and Takrohi Eleven stormed into the quarterfinals of the Lucknow Premier League, scoring contrasting wins, at the Vikas Nagar stadium here on Thursday.
Chinhat Cricket Club beat Young India Association by seven wickets, Eram Eleven beat Omex Heights by nine wickets and Takrohi Eleven beat Ismailganj (Panigaon) by 16 runs.
Earlier, cabinet minister in the state government, Ashutosh Tandon inaugurated the tournament at a colourful ceremony.
