Thousands walk for HR awareness
LUCKNOW: Thousands of students attended a walk organised by Youth for Human Right, India, on World Human Rights Day on Sunday.
The walk, which began from 1090 Women Powerline crossing, was attended by students from universities, colleges, schools, NCC cadets, members of clubs and communities and parents.
The initiative aimed at creating awareness among masses about human rights as per United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights was inaugurated by UP minister for women and child welfare Rita Bhauguna Joshi.
Joshi motivated the participants and appreciated the efforts by the organisation Youth for Human Rights India for holding this walk. Arjumand Zaidi, national president of India Chapter appealed to the participants to
come forward and join this mission to make India crime and corruption free. She thanked all the principals of schools and children and government officials for the support extended to make the event a success.
She encouraged the children to be bold and truthful and not to violate each other's human rights. Students from Navyug Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Pioneer Montessori, New Bal Bharti School, Integral University, NCC and NSS took part in the walk.
The participants said it was a good experience to walk in the most picturesque environment. The event also saw some entertaining performances from a band of St Xavier’s Convent School.
