LUCKNOW: Cops arrested Shubham, the third accused in the gang rape of a 14-year-old blood cancer patient, from Daroga Khera area under Sarojini Nagar police station on Monday.

The Lucknow police are also planning to impose NSA on all the three accused- Virendra Yadav, Sumit Kumar (who were arrested late on Sunday evening), and Shubham.

Dharmendra Shahi, station officer, Sarojini Nagar police station got the information about Shubham hiding in Daroga Khera area. Following the tip off, cops arrested him on Monday.

Shubham and Sumit, both neighbours of the victim, had allegedly raped the girl late on Saturday night when she had gone to an eatery near her house in Sarojininagar at around 5 pm.

The duo offered the girl lift on their motorcycle and the victim readily accepted the offer as she

knew them. However, instead of dropping the girl at her residence, they took her to a secluded place in Sarojininagar, held her captive for six hours and gang raped the girl.

After carrying out the heinous crime, the miscreants dumped the girl at the roadside after threatening her with dire consequences.

When the girl was waiting at the roadside for help, a motorcyclist Virendra Yadav stopped and promised to drop her home. On the way, she shared her ordeal with Yadav.

However, he too proved to be a perpetrator. Instead of helping the victim, Yadav too took her to a deserted place and allegedly raped her. He fled leaving the girl at the spot.

According to additional superintendent of police (ASP), East, Sarvesh Mishra, the incident came to light when some locals spotted the girl loitering alone around Saturday midnight and informed cops at the Bijnore police outpost.

The girl then narrated the entire incident to police, after which her family was informed.

The accused have been booked under IPC section 376-D for gang rape and section 5G/6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Four other persons who had helped Shubham and Sumit in the crime by holding the girl captive are yet to be arrested.
