WPL-1090 bags excellence award

LUCKNOW : Women Power Line1090 has bagged the PAN-IIM digital India Excellence Award 2017 (government sector citizen services).

It received 1,99,464 complaints between January 1 and November 30 and 1,90,347 were resolved.

The award was given at the PAN-IIM World Management Conference on December 14. Deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma gave the award to Navniet Sekera, IG, Women Power Line. It was given for solving women’s complaints using technology.

WPL got 1,99,464 complaints between January 1 and November 30 and 1,90,347 were resolved. In all, 46% complainan­ts were working women, 39% non-working and 15% were students. The age data shows maximum 36% were in the age group of 20-25 years while 8% were between 30-40 years of age. Besides, 2% were up to 15 years of age and 7% above 50 years of age, 5% between 40-50 years, 16% between 25-30 years.

As per the details, 1,51,486 (75.9%) complaints were related to harassment over telephone while 41,113 (21%) complaints were related to harassment at public places.

Complaints related to harassment on social media (3,620), domestic violence (2,738) and other issues (507) were also received.

As many as 30,208 complaints were registered from Lucknow while there were 8,039 from Allahabad, 6,391 from Gorakhpur and 7,380 from Varanasi.
