Delhi man visits city 7th time to get possession of plot, but in vain
LUCKNOW: It was in 2002, when the Lucknow Development Authority had allotted a plot to one Jyoti Khanna in Sector-4 of Gomti Nagar extension. She paid ₹11 lakh to the LDA for the land.
In 2008, Jyoti got the plot registered and completed all the formalities. However, she is yet to get the possession of the plot.
Now, her son, Chandresh Khanna, a native of New Delhi, is made to run from pillar to post by the development authority for the possession of the plot.
However, the LDA officials are unable to give any clarification as to why Jyoti has been denied the possession of the land till now.
On Thursday, Chandresh, 34, was again in Lucknow to plead his case before the LDA officials at the ‘Pradhikaran Diwas’ organised by the LDA at its Gomti Nagar office.

assurance from LDA V-C PN Singh.
“LDA vice-chairman has assured to resolve the issue in the next two to three months,” said Chandresh, who returned to Delhi on Thursday night.
This was Chandresh’s seventh consecutive visit to the city to represent his case before the LDA officials at the Pradhikaran Diwas.
“The LDA VC was considerate but other officials of the development authority were indifferent to my ordeal as usual,” said Chandresh.
Till two years back, Jyoti Khanna herself used to visit Lucknow from New Delhi to plead her case before the LDA officials.
But as she is a senior citizen now, she is unable to make frequent visits to the city.
On her behalf, now her son Chandresh comes to Lucknow at every ‘Pradhikaran Diwas’. Every time, he comes to Lucknow hoping that his problem would be resolved but in vain.
“I have a connection with Lucknow. My mother hails from this city. My maternal uncles live in Rajajipuram. I had applied for an LDA’s plot in 2002 with a plan to settle in Lucknow. But all our hopes have been shattered,” said Chandresh.
Chandresh is a businessman. He runs a showroom of batteryoperated scooters in New Delhi.
“Some LDA officials are pressurising to take refund of money invested in the plot with interest. But I have outrightly refused the offer. Had I wanted bank interest, then I would have deposited the money in a bank instead of purchasing a plot,” said Chandresh.
On Thursday night, Chandresh returned to New Delhi planning to attend LDA’s Pradhikaran Diwas in February next.
