Yogi Adityanath to hold ‘roadshow’ in Mumbai
LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh government is pulling out all stops to make its ‘Investors Summit 2018’ a big draw.
On Friday, chief minister Yogi Adityanath will hold a ‘roadshow’ in Mumbai for the captains of industry and invite them to participate in the two-day summit to be held in Lucknow on February 21 and 22.
The ‘roadshow’ will be held at Hotel Trident in south Mumbai. "The idea behind the event is to seek the participation of leading industrialists operating in Maharashtra,” said Industrial Development commissioner Anup Chandra Pandey.
He said well-known industrialists, including Mukesh Ambani, Ratan Tata, Deepak Parekh, Subhash Chandra, Ashok Hinduja along with several Bollywood personalities, have also been invited in to attend the event.
“The purpose of the summit is to attract industrial investment in UP,” said Awanish Awasthi, principal secretary and directorgeneral of the Department of Tourism.
He said the state government was committed to establishing strong industrial infrastructure to provide employment opportunities to the youth by implementing the new Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy 2017, Information Technology Policy and policies regarding startups, food processing and agriculture.
The state government, he said, was creating an atmosphere conducive for industry.
Industrial Development minister Satish Mahana and chief secretary Rajive Kumar will lead a delegation of senior officers from UP, Awasthi said.
On December 19, Mahana had held a similar roadshow in Hyderabad to invite investors and industrialists from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to explore possibilities of investing in UP.
“We have come up with a very progressive industrial policy after holding detailed discussions with industries and industry associations. We have big potential area and we welcome industries from across the country to UP now," Mahana said.
