MUMBAI:Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday invited investors to his state saying that the law and order has improved drastically and bureaucratic red tapism has been controlled.

In an interaction with industry captains organised in Mumbai, Adityanath said such an atmosphere did not exist in his state a year ago.

“Earlier, UP was not considered as preferred investment destination for industrialists as far as law and order was concerned. Now the government has zero tolerance for crime and for people who are protecting criminals,” said Adityanath. “We have also introduced a single window approval system to promote ease of doing business and create a business friendly environment in the state,” he added.

The aim is to provide employment and remove regional imbalances, he said. “We are repealing 1,200 obsolete laws and easing labour laws,” he added.

For boosting investments and development opportunities in the state, the state government had in July approved Industrial Investment and Employment Policy, 2017.

The new policy is aimed at facilitating ease of doing business besides employment generation, and establishing a new ‘Make in UP’ department to derive the maximum benefits of the Make in India scheme.

He said the recently introduced policy is the roadmap not only for industrial development but also for overall standard of living, creation of jobs and exploring new avenues with substantial policy framework.

The seminar was a precursor of the Investors Summit 2018 to be held in Lucknow on February 21 and 22.

The seminar was attended by various industrialists and Bollywood personalities. Actor Randeep Hooda endorsed that the law and order has improved. “One of my friend was attacked in Uttar Pradesh and when I tweeted this incident to the chief minister’s office, the goons were caught within hours,” said Hooda.
