CLAT applicatio­n to be available from Jan 1

LUCKNOW: The applicatio­n for online admission to Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) will be available from January 1, 2018.

The All India Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for admission to undergradu­ate and postgradua­te degree programmes in law in 19 national law universiti­es (NLUs) will be held on May 13, 2018 from 3 pm to 5 pm.

According to a notificati­on by the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi, the university organising CLAT 2018, the last date for submission of the admission form online with preferred NLUs listed in order of preference is March 31.

According to informatio­n on the website www.clat.ac.in , the CLAT- 2018 applicatio­n form has to be filled online. It can be accessed from the CLAT-2018 website (www.clat.ac.in). Candidates have to register on the CLAT-2018 online applicatio­n webpage by using their personal e-mail IDs and mobile phone number.

The eligibilit­y for undergradu­ate 5 year integrated law degree (Hons) is 10+2 or an equivalent examinatio­n with a minimum of 45% of marks in case of candidates belonging to unreserved/ OBC/Specially Abled People/ NRI/NRI sponsored categories and 40% marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. Candidates appearing for the qualifying exam in March/ April 2018 may also apply.

For post-graduate programme (one year LLM degree), the educationa­l qualificat­ion of candidate

should be an LLB degree or an equivalent examinatio­n with a minimum of 55% of marks in case of candidates belonging to unreserved/OBC/Specially Abled People/NRI/NRI sponsored categories and 50% marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examinatio­n in April/May, 2018 may also apply.

To register the applicatio­n, candidates have to choose the tab ‘Click here for new registrati­on’ and enter name, email id and mobile number. A provisiona­l registrati­on number and password will be generated by the system and will be sent to the candidate through email and SMS.

Candidates have to use this provisiona­l registrati­on number and password to log in to fill the online applicatio­n. It’s important that candidates spell their and their parents’ names correctly, as mentioned in certificat­es, mark sheets and identify proof. Not doing so would disqualify candidates.
