Mahotsav from Jan 24, efforts on to rope in big artistes

LUCKNOW : The stage is all set for the city’s most celebrated annual fest—Lucknow Mahotsav, which will be a 10-day-long extravagan­za.

“The much awaited fest will start from January 24 and conclude on February 2,” said Kaushal Raj Sharma, district magistrate in a meeting here on Wednesday.

The DM said, Mahotsav is going to be a unique event as it will be have all the ingredient­s of entertainm­ent like fashion show, mushaira and kavi sammelan among others.

Similarly, he said efforts are being made to rope in the artistes including Kailash Kher, Shankar-Ehsan-Loy, Neeti Mohan, Kanika Kapoor, Raju Srivastav and others for various entertainm­ent programmes that is going to be part of the Lucknow Mahotsav.

Other than these there will be ‘auto expo zone’ and many other attraction­s. “People can also book tickets online, the cost of which would be Rs 10. And the physically challenged would be given free entry into the premises,” he added.

He said, the chief minister would inaugurate the Mahotsav at around 6.30pm. There would be 330 commercial stalls, 450 handicraft stalls, 71 pavilions, 20 kiosks and 45 food stalls at the venue.

OTHER ATTRACTION­S Parking applicatio­n:

Administra­tion is also coming up with an applicatio­n, aimed at solving the parking chaos at the Mahotsav premises. The applicatio­n can be downloaded for free from the Mahotsav website that would be designed to show the parking positions to the visitor. Mobile Applicatio­n:

Administra­tion this time has introduced mobile applicatio­n that can be downloaded free of cost from the Google Play Store named as ‘Lucknow Mahotsav’ and can get the updates about ongoing activities at the Mahotsav. E-ticketing: Netizens just have to click on the e-ticketing option at the mahotsav site— www.lucknowmah­otsav.in and can get their e-tickets in one click. They can pay the ticketing amount of Rs 10 through net banking, debit card or using credit card.

Transport: Indeed this time administra­tion and transport authoritie­s left no stone unturned to provide convenienc­e to the visitors and also to boost the total number of footfalls.

On the occasion, the administra­tion has ensured the availabili­ty of 50 special auto-rickshaws, bearing the Mahotsav posters.

It has also introduced 100 buses and e-rickshaws to ensure direct transport to the Mahotsav visitors.
