Install CCTV cameras, DIoS reminds schools
LUCKNOW: District Inspector of Schools (DIoS) has shot a reminder to all the schools to install CCTV cameras, covering entire school premises including the toilet entrances at the earliest.
DIoS’s move came a day after a seven-year-old student of Brightland Inter College was stabbed by a senior girl of the same school in the toilet in a bid to get the school closed early.
The DIoS, calling it a serious issue said, the schools should also ensure regular checking of bags in order to avoid such happenings.
“It’s something very serious. I have directed all the schools including those affiliated to CBSE, ICSE, and UP board and also the madarsas to complete the CCTV camera installation at the earliest. And also implement the safety guidelines that government issued in September last year,” said Dr Mukesh Kumar Singh.

CBSE, ICSE, UP board and madarsas and issued an advisory.
The advisory included the installation of CCTV cameras on school premises, police verification of the staff engaged in the schools or with the bus services.
In the meeting, the deputy CM had also mentioned of a killing of a 7-year-old student in a school in Gurugram, Haryana and had called these measures a must.
DIoS said, the schools have been directed to ensure the implementation of these advisories with immediate effect and to carry out regular checking of school bags in order to avert such occurrences in future.
