Healthy lifestyle: Soon, doctors to train beauticians
LUCKNOW: Aiming to spread awareness on the merits of following a healthy lifestyle, doctors will conduct special sessions on the subject at the 16th annual conference of the All India Cosmetologists and Beauticians Association (AICBA) on January 28.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, Dr Rama Srivastava, founder president AICBA, said plastic surgeons Dr Vaibhav Khanna of Healthcity Hospital, and Dr Brijesh Mishra and Prof AK Singh of KGMU will interact with the participants after the panel discussion in the scientific session. Blossom Kochhar, Harish Bhatia and other experts will be there for the session on facial procedures.
“Our aim is to help beauticians understand the importance of health, as this could be a strong way to spread health awareness, particularly among women,” said Dr Srivastava.
“Since people, especially women, visit beauticians, it can benefit them. If beauticians know about good health, they can share tips with their clients,” he added.
Dr Khanna said that training one beautician could ensure that at least 100 women get information on a healthy lifestyle in a span of one year.
“If the number of trained beauticians is 100 or more, the number of beneficiaries will be much more,” he added.
The conference will also discuss lifestyle changes for controlling hypertension, obesity and diabetes. Dr Khanna will deliver a lecture on skin care, while Dr Adarsh Kumar will speak on safe use of cosmetic products.
Dr Rama Srivastava will conduct a session on hair growth and styling.
