LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) can expect investment from Sweden in waste management, sewage disposal, maintenance of toilets (an essential part of Swachch Bharat Mission) and street lights.

A two-member team from the Swedish embassy expressed its desire for collaboration with the LMC under the Smart City project on Monday.

Additional municipal commissioner PK Srivastava said, “The Swedish team members met the project management consultant of the Smart City project and were keen to get associated with the project as they have cutting edge technologies which can improve the civic conditions of the city considerably. They have appreciated planning of the Smart City. However, they can add value to all the proposals.”

The team also met municipal commissioner Udairaj Singh with their proposal of cooperation.

Singh said, “The meeting was helpful and we can expect good results. The Swedish team has offered its assistance and transfer of technology in transportation of garbage and waste management.”

FEEDBACK MACHINES

The LMC will start planting feedback machines in front of all its 250 toilets from Tuesday. The

machines would give feedback about the quality of toilets in the city.

The machines will have three buttons: Satisfactory , Neutral

and Bad. If any toilet draws feedback of ‘Bad’, the LMC will take action against the person concerned besides improving the condition of the toilet.
