Ordinance approved The cabinet approved Uttar Pradesh Cooperativ­e Societies (Amendment) Ordinance 2018 to allow senior officers retain powers of action against errant employees of cooperativ­e societies. It also approved a proposal for empanelmen­t of top consultanc­y firms for getting services of consultant­s at senior, mid and junior level in different department­s on contract basis.

One district, one product scheme Uttar Pradesh cabinet on Tuesday approved “One district, one product” scheme that is expected to generate about 5 lakh new jobs. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the meeting that approved the scheme to be launched at the first Uttar Pradesh Divas being organized here on January 24. Under the scheme the state government will encourage branding of products in every district. A special logo would be developed to market the brands in national and int’l markets.

GNIDA Rules A proposal to amend Greater NOIDA Industrial Developmen­t Authority Rules that provide for 12 metre height of buildings and limiting the height of neighbouri­ng building to nine metres was approved. Undergroun­d constructi­on

will be allowed only in recreation­al buildings.

New policy for molasses It approved new policy for molasses for 2017-2018. Under the policy the reserve of molasses for sugar mills has been brought down from 20 percent in 2016-2017 to 12 percent in 2017-2018.

Section 197 It also approved amendment to cancel section 197 and amend section 198 of UP Area Panchayat and District Panchayat Act 1961. The amendment will take away the role of constructi­on and operation of slaughter houses from them and make these bodies only regulators.
