There is nothing controversial in the film, say movie buffs

-

LUCKNOW: Movie buffs who watched ‘Padmaavat’ on the first day of its release gave a thumbs-up to it, saying “there was nothing controversial in the film and it was one of the best works of Sanjay Leela Bhansali.” Some even termed it as an “epic tale of love.”

Apart from the preparations for Republic Day celebrations, the day also witnessed heavy deployment of forces at multiplexes.

The district administration convened a late evening meeting with the multiplex owners over the security arrangements. “We called a meeting to discuss security issues. A few multiplexes owners cited lack of security arrangements,” said Prashant Sharma, chief development officer, DM in-charge.

Sharma said police had been deployed at multiplexes as a precautionary measure.

People who were among the first watchers called it a ‘paisa wasool’ movie.

“One needs to watch it at least two to three times to get complete satisfaction. It’s a legendary film,” said Minaaz Akhbar, 22, a student.

“There was nothing in the movie that was controversial. I suggest that protesters should watch the movie and all their doubts would be cleared,” said Ibrahim Ahmed 24, a student.

People also said that Ranveer Singh’s portrayal of Alauddin Khilji in the movie was the best performance in negative role.

“I am a big fan of Ranveer now. It’s his best performance so far. It’s a must watch movie with amazing dialogues and enthralling screenplay. All actors did their job wonderfully,” said Anuradha Shukla, a housewife.
