Cleaning up 15 years’ garbage, Adityanath mocks predecessors
LUCKNOW: “We are trying to clean up the ‘garbage’ left by the previous state governments in the last 15 years,” said chief minister Yogi Adityanath while addressing farmers on the second day of the UP Divas celebrations on Thursday.
He was referring to 77 metric tonnes of garbage that has been apparently removed from Mandis across the state. “For the past 15 years no cleanliness drive was carried out there. Now, they are being whitewashed and spruced up,” said the CM while inaugurating agriculture exhibition.
He also felicitated 10 farmers for adopting innovative methods in farming.
He said, “Both the Samajwadi Party and the BSP governments had failed to address farmers’ issues. In the SP government, farmers had to face cane-charge to get fertilizer and seeds.”
Informing farmers about steps taken by the state government to clear pending dues of sugarcane farmers, the CM said: “When we formed the government, dues of sugarcane farmers of over Rs 20,000 crore were pending. Now, only Rs 400 crore is pending and it will also be paid
