Kasganj victim’s kin meet CM, demand martyr’s status
LUCKNOW: Family members of Chandan Gupta, the youth killed in Kasganj on January 26, said they met chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday. They said they demanded the status of a martyr for Chandan. In a 10-minute conversation with the CM, Kirti demanded martyr’s status and stern action against those responsible for killing him. They also handed over a memorandum to the CM on their demands.
FIR AGAINST 2 FOR INCITING HATRED THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA
BAREILLY: Kasganj police registered a case against two persons for allegedly inciting hatred through social media platform here on Tuesday. One of the accused was arrested and police is on a look out for another one.
Superintendent of police of Kasganj Piyush Srivastav said, “Police have identified a Whatsapp group named ‘Nakshatra computers’. Several provocative messages were posted on the group, apparently to incite violence.” Police arrested one of the accused Ram Singh who is group admin while another accused Ajay Gupta, who is a group member, is absconding.
ANOTHER MURDER ACCUSED ARRESTED
Police arrested another accused in the murder of Chandan Gupta on Tuesday. “We have arrested one Salman from Kasganj city area. The police team has also recovered a countrymade pistol and two cartridges from his possession,” the said SP.

Chandan’s sister Kirti Gupta and a maternal aunt reached the secretariat on Tuesday to meet the chief minister, along with Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha vice president Abhijat Mishra.
In a 10-minute conversation with the CM, Kirti demanded martyr’s status for Chandan and stern action against those responsible for killing him. They also handed over a memorandum to the CM . “The CM has assured us that stern action will be taken against those responsible for Chandan’s death. But he did not say anything on our demand of granting the status of a martyr to my brother,” Kirti Gupta said after meeting the CM.
