STUDENT POLLS IN THE BEGINNING OF SESSION: GUV RAM NAIK
KANPUR: Governor Ram Naik on Saturday said all state universities have been directed to hold student union elections in the beginning of session from the 2018-19 academic year.
The governor, who is also the chancellor of state universities, said the varsities have also been told to declare exam results by June 15 and issue marks sheets to the students on the day of result.
He was addressing a press conference after attending the convention of vice chancellors of all the 28 state universities at the CSJM University here on Saturday.
He further said the varsities were asked to hold convocations by November 15.
Besides, he said from the current academic session (2017-18) the varsity examinations would be held throughout the state under vigil of CCTV cameras to check incidents of copying. Directives have been issued to all the VCs for installing CCTV cameras, he added.
The universities were also asked to make arrangements for e-governance which entails bringing all information regarding administration in digital format.
This for the first time, that the CSJMU has hosted the VCs convention for reviewing the higher education system in the state.
AYODHYA ISSUE SHOULD BE RESOLVED WITH COMMON CONSENSUS
On a question about Ayodhya issue, the governor said it would be good if the matter was resolved with a common consensus.
“If there is any such consensus it should be brought to the notice of the Supreme Court,” the governor added.
