AAP opposes new rules for NEET
LUCKNOW: The Aam Admi Party (AAP) has opposed the new rules introduced for candidates willing to appear in NEET (national eligibility cum entrance test), the gateway for the medical and dental institutes in the country, with party office-bearers saying they would move court against the measure.

Supreme Court to get justice to the students,” said Maheshwari.
“The new rules say the maximum age for general category candidate is 25 years and for SC/ ST/OBC 30 years. They also say that students from open schools will not appear in NEET,” said Maheshwari.
She added, “This is nothing but a rule that will snatch away the right to higher studies. NEET is entrance and not a job test.” Another rider that was criticised was continuity in passing Class 11 and 12.
“The new rules say there cannot be a gap,” said Ghanshyam Srivastava of the Swaraj Andolan Trust.
He said that there were candidates who did not pass Class 11 and 12 in succession due to some unavoidable circumstances, such as illness.
This did not mean their right to appear for medical/dental education would be taken away.
“If they are not intelligent enough, they will not be able to clear the entrance. Why should the government bar them from entrance?” he said.
