Abhishek’s knock helps UPCA enter final

LUCKNOW:Opener Abhishek Goswami smashed a superb halfcentur­y as Uttar Pradesh Cricket Associatio­n defeated Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC), New Delhi by four wickets to make it to the final of the 12th All-India Justice SN Dwivedi Memorial cricket tournament in Allahabad on Tuesday.

With the match reducing to 15-over for a side due to west outfield, Abhishek took 35 balls to score 83, which contained nine hits to the boundary and five sixes as UPCA romped home in 13.4 overs while chasing 152 in 15 overs.

Trishal Trivedi remained unbeaten on 20, which came off 11 balls with the help of two fours and a six.

Sumit Narwal took two for 32, whereas Ajay Ahlawat, Praveen Gupta and Zeeshan Ansari shared three wickets between them, at the Madan Mohan Malviya stadium.

Earlier, ONGC after making a quick start, managed to post 151/4 in 15 overs after being sent to bat first.

Sumit Narwal remained the top scorer with an unbeaten 47, which came off 25 balls with the help of one four and five sixes. He was followed by Lakshya Threja (40, 15b, 5x4, 2x6), Radhey Shyam (29, 27b, 5x4) and Prashant (21, 16b, 2x4).

For UPCA, Mukesh Kumar had two for 18, whereas Trishal Trivedi and Parth Mishra had a wicket each. Now, on Wednesday,
