Bright minds come together during TEDx at IIMLucknow
LUCKNOW : To celebrate ideas on a global platform, the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow organised TEDx on Sunday. The theme of the event was “Unlocking possibilities”.
“The event was the result of the passion for sharing ideas that create a difference. IIMLucknow hosted some of the famous personalities from different parts of society who have really touched the lives of the people and community at large,” said an IIML official.
Prof Nishant Uppal, chairman student affairs and the placement chair said, “The idea behind organising this event is that students get inspired to create a difference in the society.” The audience included Prof Prakash Singh, Prof Sushil Kumar, Prof Pushpendra Priyadarshi, the IIM Lucknow students along with attendees from Lucknow city. The event was very much appreciated by everyone, and witnessed a jam-packed auditorium.
It started with perfectionist Gaurav Agrawal, an IIM Lucknow Gold Medallist and UPSC AIR-1. He spoke about busting the myths about high scale unemployment due to the incorporation of technology at various levels of organisations. He succinctly related it to the past evidence from industrial revolution as an anecdotal reference that history repeats itself.
It was followed with talks from Anshu Singh, an acid attack survivor and how she, despite the odds, leads by example in the society. Suresh Triveni who is the director of ‘Tumhari Sulu’, talked about the power of dreams and importance of working on them despite everything.
Anupriya Goenka, who is known as a face of Bharat Nirman campaign and her role in movie Padmaavat, talked about anxiety and importance of talking about the problems rather than stressing over it. Major Vandana Sharma talked about her journey from being an army veteran to an entrepreneur. She inspired the audience to take risks and do something that one is passionate about. The event included other speakers like Kruti Mahesh and Vasu Primlani. The event was concluded by Balaji Viswanathan’s talk on an era of robotics movement and their applications ranging from smart cities to retail. He also talked about laying more importance on the ‘Internet of Robotic Things’ instead of the ‘Internet of Things’.
L-INCUBATOR OPENS FOR APPLICATIONS
L-Incubator IIM Lucknow announced ‘call for applications ‘for start-ups who are at the stage of commercializing industry 4.0 products/services (IOT, Blockchain, AI, Analytics, AR, VR, and 3D printing etc.)
L-Incubator MD, Prof Akbar, while announcing the call for applications said, “We look forward to revolutionising the start-up ecosystem by commercialising and nurturing early stage start-ups. L-Incubator has a very clear vision, strategy, deep capabilities, and well-defined processes. Our criteria is very stringent in selecting the start-ups and by far we are the most trustworthy incubation centre.”

The applications will be carefully reviewed and the best ones will be selected. The selected applicants will then be invited for pitch day 3.0 at IIM Lucknow Noida Campus.
