Facing financial crisis, architect jumps to death

LUCKNOW: Unable to cope up with the financial losses he suffered in his business in the recent years, a 42-year-old architect ended his life by allegedly jumping from the fifth floor of a residentia­l building in Gomti Nagar extension here on Tuesday wee hours.

The blood-soaked body of Anil Kumar Pal was spotted by some morning walkers in the morning who informed the police, said sub-inspector Kamlesh Pathak of Gomti Nagar police station.

Pathak said a suicide note was found from the pocket of Pal’s trousers in which he had mentioned about ending his life due to financial crisis. He said the victim mentioned that he was unable to overcome the losses that he had faced in his business over the past

few years and unable to pay his debts.Pathak said Pal used to stay with his family in a rented flat on the fifth floor of Block-A building. He, however, had shifted his wife Anju Pal (38) and son Ayush Pal (10) to his native place in Farukkhaba­d and returned to Lucknow only a day ago.

Pathak said the crime scene examinatio­n suggested that the victim jumped from the balcony of his rented flat some time on Tuesday wee hours. He added the victim’s wife and other family members have reached Lucknow.
