Foreign investors promise smart investment in UP

LUCKNOW Investors from countries such as Czech and Slovakia said they were looking forward to play a role in making Uttar Pradesh (UP) smarter.

In a talk organised during the UP Investors’ Summit, the investors from different countries not only highlighte­d their USPs’ but also displayed things that could be well adopted by UP in order to take its developmen­t to another level.

“When we are heading towards smart city, our expertise in smart illuminati­on can help UP cities a lot,” said Harish Reddy, managing director, Seak Electronic­s, the company that deals in smart illuminati­on.

Reddy, who was representi­ng Slovakia, said the lights manufactur­ed by his company were based on smart sensing technology.

He said the entire illuminati­on in around 100 to 500km of stretch can be easily managed through a mobile app.

“Be it part, streets, residentia­l areas or others. One can also define the dimming schedules that could also be helpful in saving power. Under this mode, one can dim the lights during the wee hours when its usage in quite low, thus can save power,” he added.

H.E Žigmund Bertok, ambassador, embassy of the Slovak Republic in India, who was the special guest on the occasion said, “Slovakian companies are looking at UP as a destinatio­n to invest. UP has all that can make it investors first choice. This summit is just a beginning I am hopeful that our investors would come forward to invest in UP,” he added.

HE Milan Hovorka, ambassador of Czech Republic to India, who was the special guest on the occasion, said India’s make in India programme is an opportunit­y for their investors. He said their investors are looking forward for the local connectivi­ty and also focusing on the sectors like food processing, electrical goods and others.
