MATHURA: Stressing on equality in India, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday said all its residents are off-springs of ‘Bharat Mata’ and so “they should remain united, as they are brothers.”

“India has won hearts, and not nations, and rather given knowledge and culture to the world while keeping away from betrayal. It enjoys its reputation globally because of its credentials,” he said.

Bhagwat was at Sunari village to address a gathering on the last day of his four-day stay in Agra for ‘Samrasta Sangam’.

In his address, the RSS chief stressed on equality and uniformity, in a society free from atrocities, and stressed on introspection by citizens.

“It is being wrongly propagated that we had always been divided and never remained one, but we need to fight this wrong conception forced on us. We have to consider our nation as ‘motherland’ and hold cow, tulsi and rivers as our mother,” stated Bhagwat to ‘swayam sewaks’.

Bhagwat said RSS cannot be compared with other organizations and one needs to make efforts to understand the sangh. He held that ‘Sanatan Hindu culture is Indian culture’.

“We as Indians have won hearts, and not nations, and never cut throats with swords or conducted loot. Rather we have spread culture and knowledge wherever we have gone and thus enjoy trust globally,” he said

“There are different groups in the nation which are moving with their own political ideologies, but we all have to keep in mind that we all brothers being sons to ‘Bharat Mata.’ It is high time we leave ill-practices like disparity and indiscipline for which we all have to work and this is for what RSS stands for, and imparts ‘mantra’ of patriotism within one hour of shakha (camp) of RSS,” claimed Bhagwat. Several seers and ‘matrashakti’ (women) were present on separate platforms on the occasion.
