TRADER KILLED AS TRUCK HITS SUV IN CHINHAT

LUCKNOW: A 26-year-old young businessma­n was killed when a speeding truck hit his Tata Safari car parked on the roadside near Matiyari flyover in Chinhat area here on Sunday wee hours.

The car had developed some technical glitch and the businessma­n was trying to fix it when hit by the truck.

The deceased, identified as Abhishek Yadav, was a resident of Chinhat’s Matiyari locality and used to run an agency of Hindustan Unilever Limited from a shop near his house.

The deceased’s father Satish Kumar Yadav told the police that the incident took place when Abhishek was returning from a relative’s place along with his friend Anand Kumar Yadav.

On their way to home, the car developed a technical fault near the flyover at around 5am.

Satish said Abhishek parked the vehicle on the roadside and was trying to fix the glitch when the truck hit it from behind.

He added that Abhishek was seriously injured and was being rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital when Anand informed him about the accident.

However, he succumbed on his way to hospital, he said.

Police told that Satish had lodged an FIR of causing death due to reckless driving against the unidentifi­ed truck driver who fled the scene after the accident.
