Health team inspects 2 clinics after complaint
LUCKNOW: A team inspected two clinics in the city after complaints were filed against them, said health officials here on Monday.
The team, including Dr SK Rawat, additional chief medical officer and Dr Anoop Kumar Srivastava reached the clinic of Dr AK Jain at around 2 pm but could not find any doctor there. “The registration of this clinic was valid till April 30, 2017 and after that the owner had not applied for renewal. The name of the doctor who turned up later was not mentioned in the old registration, so we could not ascertain who was running the clinic,” said Dr Rawat.
The clinic of Dr SK Jain, where the health team had conducted raids earlier also, was inspected at 1 pm but there only the receptionist and manager were found. The staff could not show documents demanded by the team.“We asked owners of both the clinics to present themselves at the office of the chief medical officer by 4.30 pm along with the documents related to doctors working there, medicines being given to patients and registration with the health department,” said Dr Rawat adding: “As they could not produce the same today, we have called them again on Tuesday. For now we have asked them to keep the clinics closed.”
When contacted, Dr SK Jain said, “My degree is in Ayurveda and the complaint against me is baseless. It has been made with vested interest. The issue of registration has been raised by the health department.”
Dr AK Jain could not be contacted for comment.
