Shami in trouble as wife alleges adultery
NEW DELHI/KOLKATA: Mohammed Shami is in the soup for domestic violence. The India pacer, currently on duty for India A in the Deodhar Trophy, has allegedly cheated and tortured his wife of more than three years, Hasin Jahan. Shami has denied the allegations. The couple have a daughter born in July 2015.
On Wednesday, the BCCI did not include Mohammed Shami among its contracted players. Till such time Shami’s name is cleared from the case, he is likely to lose out on international cricket and incentives.
Probably for the first time the wife of a high-profile Indian cricketer took to social media to reveal her husband’s apparent misdemeanours. Snapshots of conversations with several women were posted in Hasin’s Facebook page on Tuesday. The account has now been deleted. Shami’s wife is also meeting top police officials in Kolkata.

Hasin posted “I’ve done everything he wanted me to do. He has tortured me & hasn’t treated me like his wife. He’s a big flirt. I’m not going to divorce him till my last breath. I’ve all the evidences & will soon drag him to the court.”
Mohammed Shami on Wednesday has reacted to allegations of domestic abuse and infidelity. Rubbishing the charges, Shami said it is nothing but a conspiracy to malign his name.
“All these reports about our personal lives are completely false. This is a big conspiracy against us and there is an attempt to malign me and harm my game,” Shami tweeted after the Facebook user, believed to be his wife, posted screenshots of conversations between Mohammed Shami and other women, accusing him of adultery.
Speaking to news channels, Hasin said she found messages on Shami’s phone that were proof of his dalliances with numerous women not all of whom were Indians.
She said Shami stopped over in Dubai while returning from South Africa and was with another woman.
“I am facing domestic violence since last two years. He has also married a Pakistani girl and went to see her while returning from the South Africa tour.
“I asked Shami to take me to Dharamsala along with him but he refused. He even called me from there and abused me. He is having multiple affairs. Wherever the Indian team travels, a guy named Kuldeep supplies girls to him. BCCI is also not doing anything on this,” Jahan was later quoted as saying in the India TV report.
