LUCKNOW : Allahabad and Varanasi Hostel made it to the quarterfin­als of the state junior boys hockey tournament, notching up contrastin­g wins at the Padmshree Mohd Shahid hockey stadium here on Thursday.

Allahabad defeated Gorakhpur 3-1, whereas Varanasi Hostel trounced Devipatan 6-0. In other match of the day, Bareilly too defeated Devipatan 2-1. The quarterfin­al matches to be played on Friday at 8.00 a.m. BIG WIN
