LUCKNOW : Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia spelled out her vision for the city, covering civic issues like streetlights, street vendors, and encroachments.

Responding to a query by Dr PK Gupta of Samajik Sarokar Manch who demanded three pink toilets for women visiting PGI, the mayor said, “Just identify the land and LMC will construct pink toilets. Pink toilets are already coming up at 35 places in the city.”

Referring to street vendors, she said: “The LMC has identified street vendors and they are being videographed. They will have to furnish Aadhaar number for getting a place for themselves in vendors’ zone, so that the same vendor does not get a platform in more than one market.”

The mayor said she was in favour of renovating Aminabad on the pattern of Hazratganj. “Aminabad will soon be an encroachment-free market.” she assured.

OTS FOR HOUSE TAX

Sanyukta Bhatia said, “When I took over as mayor, LMC staff had not got salaries for 3 months. I directed officials not to charge any interest from houses that are going to be assessed for the first time. A large number of people came forward for the OTS scheme. LMC got so much revenue that they distributed salaries to all employees on Holi.” “OTS scheme is being mulled for all residents ,” she added.

STREETLIGHTS

“On Women’s Day, I directed officials to light up every street. No place should remain dark as this is connected with women’s safety,” said Bhatia.

BEAUTIFICATION

The mayor said: “For the beautification of the city, I want to involve NGOs, traders and companies for adoption of crossings and lanes.
