Fake IED causes flutter in Allahabad
ALLAHABAD A fake Improvised explosive device with a letter written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi caused a flutter among the residents of Bisri village under Koraon police station of in trans-Yamuna late on Monday night.
Police reached the scene and put the device in a bucket of water.

informed the police when he spotted a suspicious object near his house.
Police found a small cylinder, some wires and battery from the scene, which were assembled to look like an IED.
However, no detonator or explosives were found in the device. Although, the device posed no danger, it was drowned in a bucket of water as a precaution.
Sub inspector Om Prakash Singh, who reached the spot, said the letter pasted on the cylinder was written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, the content was lost as the cylinder was drowned in water.
It is worth mentioning that an unidentified person had caused panic by placing fake IEDs at several places in trans-Yamuna region around a year ago. Those fake IEDs also had letters written in poor English issuing threat to Railways.
All efforts by police and investigative agencies to trace the man behind the mischief had been futile.
SHO Koraon Amit Mishra said investigations will be carried out to ascertain if there was any connection between the recently found fake IED and the man who used to plant them earlier.
